RN74 – San Francisco, CA
RN74 is one of many Michael Mina restaurants in the US. We were not familiar, as he does not have a New York restaurant. We chose to try this one over his namesake restaurant primarily because this one seemed to have a more casual atmosphere. It turns out RN74 is the name of the interstate highway of Burgundy, France. Which means the menu was the wines of burgundy only. This is a great thing, of course, however, we were in CA to taste the local wines! Had to laugh.
The decor was super cool. It is set up like a European train station with a huge ‘train schedule’ board at the end displaying the wine specials of the day.
The crowd was very trendy. The food was quite good. Steve had the better dishes…
I had the halibut…
