We used to go to this spot when we lived in Chelsea and I’d forgotten about it.  I will say that it certainly is not Morimoto and going to Momoya on the tail end of a meal at Morimoto may have been a mistake.  But then the check was less than half!  We got some pretty standard specials – sushi combo and a sashimi lunch box.  While the quality of the sushi was nowhere near Morimoto, it was pretty good for the price.

The sushi bar here is actually pretty cool and I love the stacked wood treatment on all of the walls.

the Sunomono dish (vinegar marinated) was Salmon and Asian Greens

Momoya is a place to visit again and again when you find yourself in Chelsea, perhaps visiting the galleries.  No complaints, it’s a solid neighborhood spot.
