Border Grill – Las Vegas, NV
Border Grill is a Mexican restaurant owned by Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger, two famous LA Chefs who collaborated on this chain. Most of us know them from their recent stints on Top Chef Masters. In trying to focus on non-NYC chefs while in Vegas, I chose this very casual spot for lunch while at Mandalay Bay. It is conveniently the closest restaurant to the Convention Center. It does have outdoor space if you can take the heat. It overlooks Mandalay ‘Beach’, the hotel’s giant wave pool and is right off of ‘Lazy River’ which seems to be similar to the MGM Grand’s ‘Backlot River’ pool. It is a pool with a moving current. Kinda cool.
Anyway, the food here was inexpensive relative to other places I’d eaten on this trip. The cost was the same as my Cabana Bar Asian salad and Minutemaid Lemonade, so I was happy.
