W Hotel 123 Washington Street – Financial District

As Battery Park City dwellers, the arrival of BLT Bar & Grill was quite welcome when the W Hotel opened.  We have since eaten every brunch item and most dinner items on the menu.  Yet since the launch of this website, we’ve neglected to do a review!  Perhaps we burned out on it, as it was the first of what is becoming a stream of restaurant giants entering the neighborhood. We’ve got Danny Meyer building an empire and all sorts of things opening in anticipation of the completion of the 9/11 Memorial on 9/11/11.

BLT Bar & Grill was the first opening without its namesake Laurent Taurandel.  While the food is excellent, the hotel prices have become annoying.  Seasonal Fresh Fruit for $14 pretty much sums it up.  But at the same time, we have NEVER had a meal that wasn’t really nicely done and our boredom with such a restaurant is really our problem.  And not a bad problem to have…regulars at BLT with a VIP card?  Nice.  So below is a list of some standout items since we’ve had everything! We’ve admittedly not had all of the heavier meals as a function of dietary restrictions.  Going forward, we will attempt to fill in photos.
