We pretty much hate this place and would never waste the time writing it up, however, a significant event happened there which requires everyone’s attention.
A few years ago we were there and Jen’s debit card mysteriously disappeared. We were not totally wasted, but maybe a tad out of it. Oddly enough we had a feeling that the staff took it. It was more than a feeling, it seemed pretty obvious and the waitress did not like us at all. But shit happens, you forget about it and you move on. Jen ordered a new card and was cashless for a week.
We pretty much planned never to return, but we have friends in the neighborhood who go there regularly and asked me to meet them there. So I got there first and sat at the bar. There were two drunk girls next to me who the bartenders didn’t care for much…the one girl payed her bill but never got her card back. She assumed she misplaced the card and began looking through everything in her purse. Her friend did the same thing. The situation went on for about a half hour. They pulled the same thing with us, oh you must have dropped it under the table, etc. It seemed like the same exact experience we had. How odd is that?
I would never recommend this place ever! The food sucks, the staff has an attitude and you may leave without your credit card. But, if you do find yourself at the Hideaway pay with cash.
