Recette – CLOSED
We took a holiday risk and tried the highly recommended Recette for the Christmas Eve Prix Fixe Menu. It paid off. Everything was excellent. The only problem was I had chosen half of the ingredients for my own menu the following day. Interesting to see the different treatment and preparation of the same products.
We will return for a regular meal. I’d say one issue is space. This place is so tight. We could hear every word of the conversations on either side of us. There were about 2″ between the tables.
The menu was quite lovely and portions were good for a prix fixe. We left neither hungry or stuffed. We actually joined friends for Christmas Eve cocktails and felt great.
CHRISTMAS EVE MENU:
1st Course
Marinated White Anchovies, Lardo, Chili, Arugula, Preserved Lemon and Caraway Crouton
2nd Course
Carolina Shrimp Tortellini, Trumpet Mushroom, Black Truffle, Shellfish Emulsion
3rd Course
Roasted Cod, Anson Mills Grits, Fennel Confit, Braised Swiss Chard, Olive Tapenade
4th Course
Roast Lamb Loin, Parsnip Puree, Hedgehog Mushrooms, Rosemary,Spiced Lamb Jus
Dessert
Mint Chocolate Mousse, Matcha cake, Meringues, Cassis Coulis
Since it was Christmas, we opted not to take any photos. The space was so tight my elbows would have hit our neighbors if I lifted them! Below is a pro shot which looks amazing!
