The Smith – East Village NYC
We made a quick walking reservation on Open Table Mobile at The Smith NYC while in the neighborhood one weekday afternoon. We did not really have high expectations, but knew they are owned by the group who owns The Jane, which has a great reputation. We were rather pleasantly surprised. The front walls were open which made for a great atmosphere. The space is quite ample and the seats are not too close together, as is the case with all too many restaurants.
OUR MENU:
smith bloody mary 12
vodka / secret recipe
Deviled Eggs, dijon, cayenne 6
blt + e 13
apple smoked bacon, fried egg, lemon aioli, croissant
shrimp salad 18
avocado, fennel, oranges, grilled onions,
frisée, watercress, basil vinaigrette
Steve really enjoyed his BLT. He said it was really the best one he’d ever had. I also liked my salad, but it was very ‘summery’ for early Fall. Nonetheless, the flavors were quite nice. We will return to this restaurant for sure. We often find ourselves nearby and going to the same old standbys.
