Hundred Acres, Soho – CLOSED
I’ve neglected to write a review on Hundred Acres for quite some time. It really has a great atmosphere and we’ve enjoyed it every time we’ve gone. It is part of the group who owns Five Points and Cookshop. I’d say of the 3, this one has the best atmosphere. As for the food, we have had dinners at Cookshop and Five Points, but only brunches at Hundred Acres, so I cannot make a comparison.
However for brunch, they offer a few unique variations on the bloody Mary, which are all delicious and rank among our ‘Best of…‘ . Most are available with a pitcher option for larger parties. Also, the ‘Egg’ menu options are not your typical fare, which is quite refreshing. Most of the dishes are served in pans, which is a nice touch.
classic 9/35
dilly beans
creole mary 9/35
whole grain mustard, pickled okra
hampton shore mary 11
ketel one citron vodka, clam juice, shucked oyster
south of the border mary 9/35
absolut peppar, jalapeno
The long marble bar is a comfortable place to hang out, have a few cocktails and munch on appetizers. The menu changes seasonally, so what I recall having is no longer on the menu. Also of note, many of their dishes are spiked with pickles. GREAT pickles. Sometimes too pickled, but can you ever be too pickled? One item which remains consistent on their menu at all times of the day is the crispy pig “tater tots” with bread & butter pickles for $ 9. Decadent!
