We stopped by the Penny Farthing for the first time on Wednesday night during the snowstorm. It is a rather huge spot with a very rustic and warm atmosphere.

It’s named after the bicycle pictured above. We already had a killer cocktail before our arrival, so we stuck with beers. We’d like to go back another time and get a feel for the place. It is billed as a ‘gastro-pub’, so we’d like to try the food as well. We sort of know one of the manager/bartenders, Jo, formerly of Downtown Galway Hooker. She treated us well and Steve knows her brother, who was next to us at the bar. We met some interesting people and had nice conversation. That’s always a good reason for a return visit.
