Jonathan Waxman is a classic and we’d never been to Barbuto. Shame on us, it was great. We’ve always admired the place in summer when the garage doors are wide open, but it was just as cozy in winter. The menu is classic Italian with fresh ingredients. We chose pastas for our entrees and both were soooo rich and buttery. Mmmm. Perfect for a cold afternoon.

Later visit…Dinner at the Chef’s Table
I was disappointed after several great brunch visits over the summer. I expected ‘Chef’s Table’ to be a blow away. Not so, but it was a nice family style meal featuring a few great dishes and some mediocre. After all, Waxman is known for his roasted chicken. It was a part of the meal, and it lived up to expectations. The standouts were really the vegetable dishes. It was warm in the kitchen, but sort of a cool experience. The chefs were so quiet, you never heard one peep out of anyone. That is amazing!
