Tremont – CLOSED
We enjoyed our last visit to Tremont so much we went back for round two. We love their appetizers and salads for a light meal in the heat. We admit we’ve not yet ordered a full entree from the menu with the exception of the soft shell crab special on our last visit to Tremont.
Steve ordered the crab and avocado salad again. The presentation was a little bit different – prettier this time! And just as tasty.
I had the Tuscan Kale with sunflower seeds, parmigiano reggiano, dried cranberries and lemon vinaigrette, $12
We each ordered the daily special appetizer, Bigeye Tuna Crudo with raspberry, $16. This was fantastic! In retrospect $16 feels a tad high for 3 bites, but the sushi quality was perfection as was the light fruit emulsion. Also a gorgeous dish!
At this point we decided we hadn’t had quite enough food, so we ordered another round of small plates.
Braised Octopus, Vidalia Onion, garlic sausage, preserved lemon & Calabrian chile, $15. This was some of the best prepared octopus we’ve had in some time. It was so lightly cooked. The little tentacles were falling off on the plate, which was kinda awesome.
Grilled Artichoke with lemon saffron aioli, $14. Anyone who follows our posts knows I love an artichoke. This was no exception. I like how they sliced it and cleaned it up to several rows of leaves around the heart. It was easy to eat and the heart was deeelish…
And of course we did not stop there. After loving the strawberry rhubarb tart with blk pepper ice cream we decided to try the carrot cake tort with cream cheese icing, $10
I think this may become a summer staple. It is close to my new office in the W Village.
