The Headless Horseman
The Headless Horseman seems like an impeccable restoration of an old building, but having been in the former space, this was all created. Recycled wood covers the ceilings and walls, exposed brick, faux crumbling doorways, metal chandeliers and gaslights create a Sleepy Hollow vibe with giant wood booths and banquettes. It is dark, slightly illuminated by gaslight. Clever work. If you ever frequented the former 119 Bar in this location or Galaxy Bar next door you will be STUNNED at the newfangled Headless Horseman and Ichabod Crane.
We stopped in for a couple of Stellas at the Headless Horseman while going out to try a drink at every new bar in town. Ha, we didn’t get too far. But while here we had their grilled cheese sandwich as a little sustenance. Admittedly, however, $14 feels steep but it was mozzarella, bacon and strawberry jam. It was DELISH. No question we’ll be back again. Go check it out!
